• Christmas Event to include workshop, quiz and buffet

    Date: Monday 1st December

    Time: Arrival 7.15pm to start 7.30pm

    Location: St Catherine’s Church Hall, Rodways Corner, BH21 1LE (Opposite the Quarterjack Surgery)

    Event: Creating a Christmas tabletop decoration with Carnival Flowers giving an interactive demonstration. All materials will be provided at a cost of £20 per person. This is hands on and a great opportunity to learn a new skill and have fun at the same time. Places are limited to 20 and are going fast!

Please send it to Wimborne Gardening Club sort code 09-01-29 account number 97647399 Please put your surname in the reference box and CARNIVAL. You will need to make your bank payment by 14th November at the latest. We cannot accept payment on the night.

    There will be a quiz for those not taking part in the workshop followed by a delicious buffet for all!

    Gardening Club Committee Member Opportunities

    We are keen to keep our Gardening Club going and expanding, and we need your help with the following!

    We are currently seeking a Treasurer for our Gardening Club – someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and passionate about gardening. The Treasurer will be responsible for overseeing club finances, budgeting, and ensuring financial transparency. If you or someone you know might be interested, please reach out to Pam or Martin for more details.

    We are also looking for at least two more Planning Committee members. These members will meet with the Planners once a month for approximately 1.5 hours to help plan speakers, trips, and coordinate events. Additionally, you would attend the monthly Monday meeting.

    We are particularly keen to hear from individuals who have experience in the following areas: updating and maintaining our wonderful Club website, producing posters for advertising our Monday meetings, sending out monthly emails to members and maintaining our membership list.

    However. if you’re interested in learning these skills, we have help and training available!

    Your involvement would greatly contribute to the success and vibrancy of our club. We look forward to hearing from enthusiastic members willing to make a difference.

  • Phil Broomfield ~Highcliffe Castle - a Garden by the Sea

    Date: Monday 5th January 2026

    Time: Arrival 7.15 for 7.30pm

    Location: St Catherine’s Church Hall, Rodways Corner, BH21 1LE (Opposite the Quarterjack Surgery)

    Event: Phil Broomfield will tell the story behind Lord Bute’s seaside retreat “High Cliff”, a miniature Kew, built in the mid 1770’s and the present day Highcliffe Castle, built by his grandson in the 1830’s and examines the historic landscape and grounds which overlook Christchurch Bay, and how they have evolved to become a public pleasure grounds today.

     All welcome! Visitors £3.

    Event: Jane Benson will share her inspirational stories and her experiences cultivating a thriving community garden initiative with Wimborne Community Garden.

    Event: Mitch Perkins will share some fascinating knowledge of Hedgehog Friendly spaces in our garden and explain how we are able to transform our gardens into a Hedgehog haven!

    Event: David Bassil will demonstrate how to create beautiful flowering hanging baskets. There will be an opportunity to win one of these in the raffle following the demonstration or to purchase a glorious hanging basket of your own!
